General Information


Book Ordering

All suggestions for new book purchases need to be forwarded to the members of the Library Committee : Lisa Nichols, Maree Norton, Helen Tiplady and Angela Daley. If a book is needed urgently it can be purchased straightaway. The Library Committee reviews new purchase suggestions on a quarterly basis.


Building Access Out of Hours (200 Queen Street)

An access pass is needed to enter the building and to use the lifts before 8 am and to access Chancery Chambers before 8.30 am. To leave the Chambers after 6 pm a white button located near the glass entrance doors needs to be pressed.

Access passes need to be obtained from building managers at Charter Hall. Secretaries can arrange this.

Library

All text books and looseleaf services are located in the Library on Level 25. Law Reports are filed in Bays on both Level 25 and Level 26.

Borrowing from the Library is done through a bar code loan system. Instructions for use are located next to the bar code scanner in the Library.


Meeting Rooms

Meeting rooms are located on both Level 25 and Level 26. These need to be booked ahead of time through your secretary.


“Out of Office” email

To set your “out of office “on email when away from Chambers:

  1. Have Outlook open on screen
  2. Click “File”
  3. Click “Automatic Replies”

Don’t forget to click the tabs “Inside my organisation” and “Outside my organisation” and complete your leave details in both boxes.


Scanning

To scan a document place it upright in the photocopier tray. Click on “Email” then on “Address Book”. Scroll down to find email address required. Click on “To”. Press green button and scanning is complete.


Stationery

The stationery cupboards are stocked and located in the photocopy rooms on both levels.


Telephone
  1. To make a call:
    Both local and interstate calls are able to be made. Dial “O” first.

  2. To retrieve a message from your phone:
    A red flashing light on the phone indicates that messages have been left. To access messages lift receiver and press the flashing red button. Then press “Receive” on the display screen. The numbers of messages stored is indicated. Click on “New” then “Play”.
    To erase messages press the 3rd button below the display screen.
